Weight-Loss Surgery

Dr. John Feng is specialty trained in minimally invasive obesity surgery and a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery with over 10 years of experience in weight loss surgery.

Dr. Feng specializes in performing all weight- loss surgeries laparoscopically, including adjustable gastric banding ( LAP_BAND), vertical gastrectomy, gastric bypass and duodenal switch, with small small incisions.

Dr. Feng established Crystal Springs Surgical Associates to provide a dedicated, comprehensive surgical weight loss program with regular support group seminars held monthly in Monterey. Dr. Feng sees patients in his office in Monterey for new consultations or post-surgery follow-up care. This allows patients to receive local, more convenient care than going outside of the Monterey Peninsula.  In addition, outpatient LAP-BAND surgery can be performed at the Monterey Doctors Surgery Center.

Hip Arthroscopy

Dr. Peter G. Gerbino is recognized as a sports medicine expert and has been accredited for introducing several new surgical methods for diagnosing, repairing and reconstructing knee joints.  And now, he will be using his arthroscopic surgical skill to repair hip joints.

Dr. Gerbino will be the first orthopedist in the community to offer outpatient, minimally invasive hip arthroscopy.  It is an ideal procedure for those with activity related hip pain or hip disease such as hip arthritis or hip dysplasia.
